Incredible Sound!
I usually buy many headphones and return the ones that don't fit my needs. This is my first pair of DJ headphones (purchased for a great price from a large online retailer of books....) and I will be keeping these!
Received today, took them out of the consumer-ish looking packaging, plugged them into my mp3 player and after fighting to get them fitted to my head, I was blown away by the quality and the isolation!
I thought that pads this small would not isolate well - I was wrong!!!
I also have big ears, so the K240 fit me perfectly, and I would use those for DJing if they swiveled, but I don't want to break them. The sound quality is almost up there with the K240 pair, but less flat.
AKGs magically fit my head every time, but the hard plastic headband on this pair is less comfortable than the leather band under the wires on the studio style headphones. Also, the pads being much smaller is less comfortable, but they will be more maneuverable like this.
The only real downfall of these that keeps them from real professional use is the cord - it comes from both ears, and it is short. If it came from one (detachable with mini-xlr or otherwise) then I would have no hesitation in recommending these to any pro I've worked with.
All in all, if I find something better for DJing, I will still use these for listening to iPod because the sound quality and isolation are top notch for the size - And the look cool too! (Mine have red accents)
Final thought - though my other AKG products are made in Austria, and the PRC label on the packaging scared me at first, I think I'm ok with it if I get a good product for a good price - most importantly good product. And this is a truly great product. I usually don't write reviews for anything, and I'm ecstatic about these!

Awesome sound!
I am the kind of customer who will return a product and keep returning it until i am satisfied. These headphones deliver a very crisp sound with a deep bass. I discover new sounds every time when listening to songs that I have had on my phone a very long time. In fact, they are so great that my friends keep asking me if they can borrow them. That has never happened to me before this.
By far the best headphones i have ever owned, both when it comes to listening to music, creating music or playing games at competetive level.

Good choice for outdoors
It's marked as DJ, but I use it outdoors. It's a great piece of equipment, awesome bass and noise-cancellation. They fit perfectly in my combat trousers pocket. The only bad thing is the comfort of wearing them - it's okay for the first 10-15 minutes, but then the ears start to ache, so I need to move the headphones or even remove them for a few minutes to let my ears "rest". After that it's okay again. Overall, I'm satisfied with it.

Hello! Just want to write few things that i've noticed using these headphones for about a year now.. First of all sound quality which is absolutelly amazing and superb in this price range for me they are the best, all the frequencies are crystal clear... The desing is very nice as well in my opinion, but it's the matter of the taste... they got very nice outer noise cancelattion... but there are two things which i would change in this model: first is the lenght of cord which is only 60CM!! (i'm using model K518 LE green) so if you are a dj you have to take them off everytime you want to reach your vinyls... (very annoying) the secon thing is that they a little tight and you can feel litlle pain around your ears after an 1h/1.5 hours time of using them...
Thats my opinion about this model hope somebody found it usefull.. so in total very good phones excellent for use with ipod or mp3 player superb noise for dj's but lenght of cord ( it just matter of getting use to it...) I'will strongly recommend this headphones...

Great sound, Bad Comfort
I got this K518DJ 2weeks ago. I was very satisfied with the sound quality. It does response low and high frequency very well. I can hear many detials.
However I think it designed for either very small people(btw, I am just a short 170cm guy) or the comfort design is just a failiar. It is vey tight when I wear it even I ajust it to maxium loose it can get. After half an hour of using it my ears gets really hurt!
So sum it up, decent sound quality with it's price. But really bad comfot design.

Very Nice Headphone
This is my first mid range headphone. I have to tell you that it needs initial burn in with pink or white noise for 20+ hrs after which it starts sounding awesome. I like it a lot. It has little bias towards bass but sounds wonderful. The only drawback is it clamps very tight and after 30 min one has to readjust it. It is very rugged and I can even sleep and listen to music. It is very good value for money. I showed it to my friend who has his own band (Infernal Wrath) and he was very impressed with it…

Super Experience!
I have just bought the K 518 headphones 2 days back but i was so impressed by its sound quality that i got inclined towards writing this review. The first thing that you realise when u hear dem for the first time is wat a wonderful experience it is.
You dont need to be a Dj to get enchanted by the ausom experience it provides.
But the only drawback these headphones hav as against quite a few positives is de amount of pressure they apply on ur ears which is a cause of concern because a prologed use makes it very uncomfortable for u to wear dem.

But the one negative can definitely be ovr-looked for quite a few positives so frm my side ill definitely recommend it to hu eva is looking for a Super Experience!

Clear powerful sound but low plug quality made
Bought the headphones a week ago,
and was very happy to sound quality. But today, the plug has broken away. In general, I had the headphones for a week.
So that the reliability of the build quality headphones is very low, I will use my good old KOSS. Which I have already bigger than three years.

great hadphones for small people
I have these headphones for over a year now. They have a great sound, but they are made for small heads. People with slightly bigger head will have a problem wearing them, same comes for some earlier models, They should have at least one or two enlargement steps extra.

Permanent Companion
The K 518 DJ has some I already used to and do not want to miss again. It is robust although flexible and therefore the perfect headphones for outside. Its sound has strong heights, rather unspectacular middles and a congenial bass that is not disturbing but brigns a lot of strength if it comes to electronic music or hip hop. The sound remains clear when you turn the volume up. The only thing about the K 518 DJ that is displeasing is that it is applying a lot of pressure on the ears if you have a big head. I still cannot use them for hours. (You can adjust them by putting them ON its packaging so the pressure decreases.) All in all remarkable and strongly recomendable headphones. Probably you will not find comparable ones within the same price category.

Amazing Headphones
Have had these headphones for a while now and I must say these are amazing headphones. They sound great and you're able to hear every aspect of the song. Perfect for my djing style. It is very durable however I find that you can't have it on for a long period of time. Other than that, it is definitely worth the price you pay and you will keep these headphones forever! :D

Extreme value
Sometimes they may sound a tad too "bassy", but in this price range, I don't know of any other headphones that get even close to their general sound quality. However, after 30 minutes or so of continuous use, they start hurting a bit over the ears, which is pretty annoying. But I guess this is subjective.
Overall I can't complain, and I would definitely buy them again.

Brilliant DJ Headphones
Absolutely amazing DJing headphones. I am constantly traveling to shows and gigs, and these headphones provide the best sound quality, comfort, and overall value, comparable to vastly more expensive DJ headphones. They are beautifully designed and are extremely flexible and live up to the AKG name.

Sport, small clubs and everywhere you can use it!!!
A great Headphone, Sound is incredible, processing is well and you can use it in really every condition of live....

Awesome small club headphones
Ever since owning them I have been amazed with the sound quality from these. They are great for taking to smaller clubs as they are so compact and light. Great sound isolating capacity as well!
I would recommend to anyone (might need something bigger for big clubs thou) but for everything smaller and for day to day listening these are awesome.

Great headphone with minor problems
One of the best portable headphones I've bought, though the design of it could use some improvements.
+ Great sound and price
- Uncomfortable after long use
- The plug is as in many headphone the missing link in quality and after a half year mine was starting to only sound at one speaker(both will work if you twitch it the right way) which I believe is because you kept it small to fit all devices, a little reinforcement could be a recommendation for later models.

A remarkable set of headphones
It truly is a remarkably good performing pair of headphones at a very reasonable price. It would not be unfair at all to say that the 518DJs are better than some headphones belonging at price points much higher than the one it belongs to.
Sound wise, it seems a little boomy in the beginning, but after a burn-in period, the bass becomes very smooth yet powerful. With a good source, these babies won't let you down in any department, with deep, tight bass, crisp mids and soaring highs.
The construction is solid, with good materials that will take a beating and keep on rocking. The clamping force is a little tight, but since I use it on the go, they end up being very useful in keeping them on my head.
All in all, throroughly amazing and very much recommended!
