These headphones are phenominal. Beautifully crafted, exceptionally comfortable even with extended wear, and sound quality to die for. I've been using them for around a year now and I'm still surprised by the audio. Bass noise is rich without being overpowering, higher ranges are crisp and clear, and I still pick up on sounds in songs I never knew existed. It's amazing how a song can contain whispers or backing you've never heard until using a proper quality set of headphones. Buy these. You will not be disappointed

Quality headphones for homestudio.
I bought these (K 272 HD) for 159€ so I had pretty big expectations. It was quickly easy to say that these are the best sounding audio equipment that I have in my home. My old headphones were pretty cheap and full of bass. When I putted my brand new K 272 HD headphones to my ears for the first time the sound was almost phenomenal. Clear sound filled my ears and I thought: I'm in heaven.

Extremely clean sound!
These headphones should certainly be classified as reference cans. They reproduce the music truthfully and elegantly. Some will complain of the lack of bass but I feel these have just the right amount. And the excellence of the mids and highs on these cans will make up for any dissappointment one could have with the bass. I have used these both with an iPod as well as a standalone amp. They work well driven by just the iPod however when hooked up to the amp stunning sound is reproduced. Acoustic live albums are among my favorites to listen to with these headphones. The first album I listened to with these through the amp was Eric clapton's unplugged and it was nothing short of a religous experience. If you have a headphone amp I would not hesitate to reccomend you pick a pair of these up right away!

Incredible Headphones
The K272 HDs are truly amazing, every genre of music sounds good on these 'phones. The balance is perfect and the low-end bass isn't overpowering while still being punchy and clear. I use these with my iPod and they are brilliant, especially for the price. I would recommend these to anyone who wants great quality sound without the hassle of headphone amplifiers and whatnot. Well done AKG!

Very impressive in all aspects
These phones are by far the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn. I use them for multiple hours on a daily basis and never get sore ears. The sound is clear, open and unbelievably crisp. They allow no sound whatsoever to leak from them, neither to penetrate them - a perfect headphone to wear while working on something in a noisy environment - at university, for example. I simply love them! :D

excellence with one minus
Unprecedented and fair sound for all spectra. Good comfort. Beautiful and thoughtful design. No excessive bass. Unfortunately, the sheath of the cable is not solid. Those tears quickly under normal use, making the wires bare. While the cords of my Sennheiser and Sony headphones (after many years of intensive use) are still in top condition. In retrospect, I would prefer the professional sister, the K271. This is almost an equal price. It has a removable cord, and seems more solid. I hope AKG will replace the broken cord for a better one.

(Re-)Discover your music!
First of all and short: definitely the best headphones i bought so far :)
Design: Beautiful classic look. Not too fancy, not too simple with some nice chrome-ish edges. These headphones will definitely be noticed if you have them lying around.
Build Quality: Really, really well made pair of headphones. There are one or two seams where it would be nice if they weren't there, but certainly the level of quality I was expecting. I also really love the loooong (3m) cable with gold plated jack.
Comfort: The broad headband adjusts itself nearly perfect to any head shape makes wearing this headphones a dream. The earpads are a bit stiff when taking it out of the box but soften up quickly and get a nice flushy feeling :)
Sound quality: With every headphones before the AKG K272HD, I always had the feeling "there had to be more" when listening to music on my computer. Now I think I found the "more" with these. They have a very unaltered, neutral, crystal clear sound that really helps if you are like me and love to really disassemble a song. If you like a strong bass you may have to configure you equalizer accordingly because these headphones have (as mentioned before) a very neutral, linear type of sound.
Conclusion: If you have the money: Buy them! I didn't regret it and you won't either.

Accurate and clear - Best ones i ever had.
Some say they like a more "soft" sound, but what i like most about my headphones (which are in case the K271 Studio - but sound should be the same as they stem from the same heritage) is there great high and mid-spectrum sound. i carry them mostly wherever i go and i can say they can take quite a beating. the only thing is the wear on the earpads, but i guess thats normal. should get some new ones ;) i would never go back...
